I finally understand the American Starbucks addiction. It’s all about what you order! I used to only go to Starbucks for a tall coffee with two sugars and just enough cream to make it dark brown. When it was hot outside I would order it iced. Yep, that was enough to put a smile on my face back then.
Last summer, I spent a lot of time studying for the DAT at Georgetown University. The Starbucks I sat in front of received loads of traffic. Everyone who entered seemed unusually happy until it hit 7 o’clock and the doors locked. I’m serious when I tell you girls started flipping out. These women literally yanked on the door handle screaming “why won’t the door open!” On another occasion, a student turned to her friend and said “I feel like dying, do you want to just walk to the Starbucks on M Street?” I was so tickled by everyone’s reaction to Starbucks having closed for the day. In some cases, the girls needed to be convinced that the store was actually closed. Funny, right?
Well I finally get it. If you want to add some excitement to your next Starbucks visit, you must order something new to you. You can look up some cool drinks on the “secret menu” or you can try one of my favorites!
This drink is just awesome. It’s basically a Chai Latte with a shot of espresso. Bang! It’s great. Sometimes I get a plain Chai Latte but it depends on my mood. You should try them both someday.
I order it just like this: “Hi, may I have a Grande Caramel Macchiato half soy half skim please (smileeeeee)”. I love this drink hot or iced! It tastes much sweeter when it’s iced than when it is hot. If you are a coffee lover you will like this espresso drink.
Green Tea Frappuccino
My wonderful sister introduced me to this one. Before this, I would order an iced green tea sweetened. Both are yummy but the green tea Frappuccino has many flavors. I honestly do not know what is in it. When I drink it I taste the green tea flavor and a light chocolaty coffee flavor. They top it with whipped cream. I love it.
I hope you like one of these drinks! Here's a photo of me in front of my favorite Starbucks in Georgetown. It has a nice rooftop seating area! Check it out at 1810 Wisconsin Avenue NW Washington, DC 20007
Welcome to a world of #StarbucksProblems. Get there before they close ;)
